New Cineflix science series Mayday starts production

August 13, 2002 - The new Cineflix series Mayday starts production this fall in Canada and Europe. Mayday explores the science of aeronautic technology and air safety through the recreation and investigation of near misses and major crashes. The UK’s Channel 5 has commissioned the new six-part one-hour series and Discovery UK/Discovery Europe is expected to take the second window on the Canada-UK-France co-production which will air in Canada on Discovery and Canal D. Budgeted at $2.5 million CDN the series will wrap in fall 2003. André Barro is the Cineflix executive in charge of production for Mayday.
